Chewbacca Mask Alteration + Tune-Up

I'm gonna miss looking at this guy! It looks effortless but it took quite a lot of cleverness to add Rey buns to Chewie with the matching National Fiber Technology fur I was sent. Part of his head in the back is hard, and part of it is hanging mesh. I created a piece to attach the buns to and disguised a wire structure to hold it in place. The buns themselves are built on felt and have some internal wire structures so I could control the shape instead of letting them hang however they wanted. I also added a long piece of triangular fur in the back to further blend the mask into a costume, and spruced up his face in areas that were going a little bald. A combination of hot glue, clear silicone, and carefully laying hair were used in various places. Punching hair into the latex mouth area was also done. What an interesting project!
